JOB SUMMARY:

The Electrical Technician will be qualified and experienced in electrical engineering and is the principal technical resource in the maintenance teams.
He must have a very well developed understanding of maintenance principles and understand the importance of planned maintenance techniques.
The electrical technician will also be responsible for managing resources appropriately to ensure that maintenance tasks are carried out at the planned frequencies and standards.

KEY SKILLS:

Excellent technical knowledge in Electrical/MEP disciplines.
Broad experience in operating multiple building facilities
Fully understands interrelation of services in complex facilities
Ability to diagnose faults and reach appropriate solutions

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Execute planned maintenance tasks in accordance with schedules
Organise labour within team to reach planned objectives

Diagnose defects and faults reported and provide appropriate cost effective technical solutions
Excellent communication skills
Ability to give clear and concise instruction to other technical and support staff
Liaise with sub contractors to monitor performance and acquire knowledge of specialist systems.
Provide reports and documentary records for Archibus system
Operate to the highest standards of Health and Safety

Job Description and Requirements:

Assist the Building & Structure Inspection Supervisor in carrying out structural inspection activities in stations, tunnels, elevated viaducts, bridges and office buildings, depots, sub-stations and ancillary buildings.
Conduct routine structural surveys, identify any evidences of structural deterioration, movement or deformation, verify quality construction on all structural concrete, evaluating their impact to the integrity of the structure, notifying Building & Structure Inspection Supervisor of any problem of structural significant and making work recommendations and schedule for repairs.
Assist Building & Structure Inspection Supervisor in providing existing condition survey for any renovation and upgrade, investigated loading requirements and strength of concrete, mapped exiting cracked concrete, testing existing steel rivets and high strength bolts, and performed corrosion studies on the structural steel members and connections.
Assist Building & Structure Inspection Supervisor in sourcing and approving all materials and construction maintenance activities as they pertained to the finished quality standards.
Follow the appropriate maintenance procedures and instructions to ensure compliance with the
Requirements.
Maintain accurate maintenance records of structural inspection activities, reports of structural inspection and analysis, work accomplished and other information using a computerized maintenance management system.
Assist the Building & Structure Inspection Supervisor or other technical support staff to implement complex systems or new projects.
Ensure the maintenance tools and equipments are in good condition.
Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Building & Structure Manager and the Building & Structure Inspection Supervisor.

Must demonstrate knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental regulations and requirements for construction projects and awareness of all hazards likely to exist at construction sites, confined space, working with live sewerage, working with height, working with electrical power in a wet environment, proven updated engineering knowledge through continuous training particularly as to Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
Proactive acumen and an ability to manage multiple sites is essential.
